Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.

Savannah is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Savannah is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Georgia's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

The Landings Golf & Athletic Club in Savannah, Georgia is a private golf and residential community with six 18-hole courses designed by architects like Arnold Palmer and Tom Fazio. Each course has a different style, ranging from open marsh layouts to tight wooded designs. It also includes tennis, pickleball, pools, fitness facilities, and marinas, making it more of a full lifestyle club than just golf. Membership is expensive, but it offers high-quality course conditions and year-round access to amenities.

We visited the Landing on a discover visit and we loved everything about the club. The golf courses were in great shape and all of the clubhouses were renovated and updated.

Asher was an outstanding employee! He needs a raise or promotion ASAP!!! He tended to my every need and made me feel like a part of the Landings family!

The only reason they get 2 stars is because the golf courses are nice and the bartenders pour heavy. The customer service is awful throughout most of the club, the food is pretty terrible everywhere, and the amenities/programs lack any imagination. If you’re looking to retire somewhere, there are many better options in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area or Florida. The Landings could be fantastic, but the consistently under perform and they’ve shown zero ability to improve in the 8 years we were members. We’re moving next week!

The Landings Club on Skidaway Island is much more than a private country club; it’s a community. A 6,300-acre gated community that includes 6 championship golf courses designed by such world-class architects: Arnold Palmer, Tom Fazio, Arthur Hills, and Willard Byrd. A community that includes 31 tennis courts, 11 pickleball courts, and eight bocce courts. And one of them is arguably the area’s best fine dining steakhouse, named after the King himself, Arnold Palmer. Each of the six golf courses at The Landings Club is unique in its own right but one attribute they all share is, showcasing the natural beauty of what Skidaway Island has to offer. Whether it’s playing through a backdrop of hardwood forests, saltwater marshes, or tidal creeks each course shows the philosophy of its designer. as well as the distinctive mark of its designer. Whether it’s the β€˜go for broke” style of an Arnold Palmer design or the functional beauty of Tom Fazio, each course at the Landings will create fond memories. All six courses have been designated "Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries" and offer challenging play for golfers of all skill levels. Every spring, the Korn Ferry Tour makes a stop at The Landin
